The article from Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice explores a randomized, sham-controlled trial examining the effects of auricular acupressure on postpartum blues. In this study, 74 participants were divided into two groups: one received routine postpartum care with auricular acupressure, while the other received routine care with a sham control (using adhesives without active seeds). The results indicated that auricular acupressure led to a significant reduction in postpartum blues severity, as well as improvements in fatigue, maternal-infant bonding, and reduction in depressive symptoms. This suggests that auricular acupressure could be a supportive therapy for new mothers experiencing postpartum emotional challenges.
